WASHINGTON. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Canada has imposed renewed and more severe sanctions on a number of Russian major banks, defense, finance and justice ministers, and members of the Russian elite, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

"We are imposing further severe sanctions. These sanctions will target 58 individuals and entities, including members of the Russian elite and their family members, as well as the Wagner group and major Russian banks. We will also sanction members of the Russian Security Council, including the Defense Minister, the Finance Minister, and the Justice Minister," Trudeau said in a speech.

He also noted that as of this moment Canada revokes all permits for exports to Russia.
