Police detain 600 participants in unauthorized rally in Moscow

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The Moscow police have detained 600 persons participating in an unauthorized rally in central Moscow, the press service for the Moscow Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry said.

"For various violations of public order, 600 participants of the event were detained and taken to the district police departments for an inquiry. The issue of bringing them to justice in accordance with the law is being resolved with regard to them," the press service said.

Earlier, calls for unauthorized rallies in Russian regions were published on social media due to the tense foreign political situation.
