DPR troops moving toward Volnovakha advanced up to 7 km deep inside Ukrainian army-controlled area - Russian Defense Ministry

Moscow. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) troops moving in the direction of the Volnovakha populated locality have advanced up to seven kilometers deep inside Ukrainian army-controlled area, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"A taskforce of troops of the Donetsk People's Republic moving in the direction of the Volnovakha populated locality has advanced up to seven kilometers deep," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

Fourteen troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered during the hostilities, he said. "After taking pledges from them to give up armed resistance, they will all be released to their families," Konashenkov said.

"The Luhansk People's Republic taskforce near the Stepove populated locality has advanced another kilometer despite fierce resistance from the nationalist battalions," he said.
