Russian Investigative Committee warns of responsibility for participation in unauthorized rallies caused by tense foreign political situation

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Investigative Committee, the Moscow prosecutor's office and the Interior Ministry have reminded citizens of responsibility for participating in unauthorized events.

"Due to disseminating in the media, the Internet and social media calls to participate in mass riots and rallies prompted by the tense foreign political situation, the Russian Investigative Committee warns of responsibility for illegal actions to organize and hold unauthorized rallies," the Investigative Committee said in a statement made available to Interfax on Thursday.

"When reacting to provocative calls, one should keep in mind the negative legal consequences of these actions in the form of prosecution up to criminal liability," the Investigative Committee said.
