Russian president to determine Donbas operation period - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he did not know whether the Russian military operation in Donbas might end sooner rather than later, and only the supreme commander-in-chief of the Russian Armed Forces could make such a decision.

"The operation has objectives, and they need to be achieved. The president said that every decision had been made and the objectives would be attained," Peskov said in response to a question on what terms Russia was ready to stop the military operation.

As to whether the operation might stop in the near future, Peskov said, "Of course, everything depends on what the supreme commander-in-chief decides. But I do not know anything about it."
