Evacuation from DPR suspended - DPR head Pushilin

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Ukrainian army attacks on the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have led to casualties, DPR head Denis Pushilin said in the 60 Minutes program on the Rossiya 1 television channel (VGTRK).

"Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the military and the civilian population," Pushilin said.

Evacuations from the DPR will be suspended, he said.

"Evacuations will be suspended for now. We are focusing on populated localities along the contact line. We are also organizing the operation of critical infrastructure," Pushilin said.

Some Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered in Donbas, he said.

"We can see that some servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have surrendered. The number of prisoners is growing," Pushilin said.
