Ukrainian troops giving up positions on large scale - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Ukrainian troops are giving up positions and laying down arms on a large scale, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Intelligence data indicate that some units and troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are abandoning their positions and leaving their weapons behind," Konashenkov said.

No strikes are being delivered on the positions of units that have laid down arms, he said.

"Ukraine's Border Service troops did not offer resistance to Russian units," he said.
