Ukraine preparing information provocations - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces are not delivering strikes on cities in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian Security Service is recording staged videos that show alleged casualties among the civilian population, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"We draw the attention of the mass media to the fact that the Security Service of Ukraine is plotting and is already carrying out provocations along the lines of the known White Helmets pattern," Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
Staged videos alleging the presence of "a large number of victims" among the civilian population of Ukraine have been recorded in Ukrainian cities, Konashenkov said. These videos are being circulated via controlled Telegram channels and social media platforms.
"Their goal is to accuse Russia of delivering allegedly indiscriminate and disproportionate strikes to intimidate the civilian population and to be shown on Western television channels," he said.
