Head of Crimea orders to prepare North Crimean Canal closed by Kyiv for taking water
SIMFEROPOL. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The Crimean State Committee for Water and Melioration has been ordered to prepare the North Crimea Canal, which Ukraine closed in 2014, for the resumption of operations, head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said.
"It seems that we will not need desalination plants. I ordered chairman of the Crimean State Committee Water and Melioration Igor Vail to prepare the North Crimea Canal for taking water," Aksyonov wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
