Zelensky introduces martial law across Ukraine
KYIV. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky introduced a nationwide martial law in the early hours of Thursday.
"This morning, [Russian] President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Donbas. Russia is delivering strikes on our military infrastructure, on our border guards. Explosions are being heard in many cities of Ukraine. We are introducing a martial law across the entire territory of our state. I spoke with [U.S.] President Joe Biden just a minute ago. The U.S. is starting to rally international support. We need to remain calm. Please, stay at home whenever possible. We are working. The entire security and defense sector of Ukraine is working. Don't panic. We are ready for everything and will defeat everyone," Zelensky said in a video message.
