Russia set to continue uninterrupted gas supply to global markets - Putin

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Russia is set to continue uninterrupted gas supply to global markets, President Vladimir Putin said.

"A broader use of natural gas, one of the most environmentally friendly types of fuel, is quite relevant at this stage. Russia is set to continue uninterrupted supply of this energy resource, including liquefied natural gas, to global markets, to upgrade the existent infrastructure, and to increase investments in the gas sector," Putin said in his greetings to guests and participants in the Sixth Gas Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

The document was published on the Kremlin's website.

The greetings noted the importance of everyone's access to inexpensive, sustainable and modern energy resources.

"We are confident that the energy transition, which is not used as a tool for the promotion of political and economic interests of certain actors and, especially, is not burdened with sanctions or other restrictions, would meet the interests of the international community," Putin said.
