ROC proposes that IOC hold award ceremony for figure skating teams at Beijing Olympics
MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin has said he believes there should be an award ceremony for the figure skating teams at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
"The [Russian Olympic Committee] ROC has made a relevant proposal to the [International Olympic Committee] IOC so that the award ceremony takes place, because this concerns not only Russians, but also representatives of other countries," Matytsin said on the Rossiya-24 television channel (VGTRK) on Thursday.
"The ceremony should take place, since the culpability and circumstances of the case have yet to be established," he said.
