Russia registers 168,201 new cases of Covid-19, 17,798 hospitalizations in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 168,201 new cases of Covid-19, or 12,400 more than the day before, and 17,798 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.
"As of February 4, Russia recorded 168,201 new cases of Covid-19, in addition to 17,798 hospitalizations, up 0.03% from the previous day," the headquarters said.
The hospitalization rate has grown in 44 regions, and 41 regions have reported a decline in the number of hospitalized patients, it said.
Morbidity has risen by 12,433 cases from 155,768 on Thursday.
Over the past day, 682 patients have died from Covid-19 across Russia.
Omicron cases have been observed in 83 regions of Russia, same as the day before, the headquarters said.
"There was a 8.8% growth in recoveries to 58,449 in the past 24 hours," the headquarters said.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 12,452,765 cases of Covid-19, including 334,039 deaths and 10,449,181 recoveries.
The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Friday that Russia has performed more than 259.7 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 1.1 million over the past day. As many as 4,167,819 people remain under medical observation.
