Putin: Russian fuel and energy complex demonstrating good dynamics

MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Russia's fuel and energy complex is showing good dynamics, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

"The domestic fuel and energy complex is showing good dynamics today, and is making a significant contribution to national economic growth," Putin said during a ceremony for presentation of top state awards.

Sustainable economic development is the basis for improving the quality and standard of living of people, he said. The backbone companies bear great responsibility for implementation of critical tasks within the country, social obligations and strengthening Russia's potential as a whole, as well as its position on foreign markets, the president said.

"Today, high awards will be presented to Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller and Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev," Putin said.
