U.S. response to Russian security guarantee proposals delivered to Putin - Peskov

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has received a response from the United States and NATO to the Russian security guarantee proposals, but analysis of this document will take time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"All these documents are on the president's table. Of course, their analysis will take some time. Let us not jump to conclusions," Peskov said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"You know that our vis-a-vis in Washington and Brussels have expressed the opinion that their response should not be published. On the other hand, our colleagues have conveyed the content of these documents in detail, so, there is probably no need to do so anyway. Everyone already knows that," Peskov said.

The statements made on Wednesday lead to a conclusion that Russian concerns have not been taken into consideration, he said.

"From what our colleagues said yesterday, it is completely clear that we cannot say that our considerations have been taken into account or any readiness to keep our concerns in mind has been displayed in regard to the main categories highlighted by the draft documents handed over to the counterparties," Peskov said.

"Once again, we should not jump to conclusions. It will take time to analyze and to enable our president to formulate the relevant stance. Let us wait and see what happens," he said.
