Rosatom considering around 10 pilot projects in area of hydrogen - senior manager

DUBAI, UAE. Jan 19 (Interfax) - Rosatom state atomic energy corporation is considering around ten pilot projects in the area of hydrogen energy, Anton Moskvin, vice president of Rosatom Overseas, said as part of Rosatom Week at Expo 2020 Dubai.

"We are currently developing pilot projects in Russia, around 10 projects, ideas," Moskvin said.

According to Moskvin, Rosatom is working on research in the area of transportation and production of large volumes of hydrogen, as well as with metals enterprises.

"In our understanding, the greatest demand for hydrogen will be from the industrial sector, mainly from large metals manufacturers, processing plants, and fertilizer producers," Moskvin said.

Rosatom is focusing its strategy on projects for the production, transportation, storage and consumption of hydrogen, Moskvin said.

As previously reported, Rosatom has been working jointly on several projects in the area of hydrogen, particularly on producing green hydrogen for the refineries of PJSC Lukoil in Romania, as well as on producing blue hydrogen at Sakhalin together with the France's AirLiquide.
