Kazakhstan probes 695 criminal cases, including 44 on terrorist charges, after riots - Prosecutor General's Office

NUR-SULTAN. Jan 18 (Interfax) - As many as 695 criminal cases have been opened into serious and very serious crimes following the recent mass riots in Kazakhstan, Azamat Sargazin, senior aide to the Kazakh prosecutor general, said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

"A total of 695 pre-trial investigations have been opened into serious and very serious crimes, including 44 probes into acts of terrorism, 15 into murders, and six cases into propaganda and calls for seizing power," Sargazin said.
