Kremlin has nothing to do with organizing Kanye West's trip to Russia - Peskov

MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is not involved in organizing U.S. rapper Kanye West's visit to Russia, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said when commenting on reports about the rapper's plans to meet with the Russian president.

During a conference call on Wednesday, journalists drew Peskov's attention to remarks made by the U.S. rapper's representatives that West plans to host his Sunday Service performance in Moscow and to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Journalists also asked Peskov whether the Russian presidential administration is ready to consider such a proposal if it arrives.

"I don't think that the presidential administration is the performer's counterpart either in terms of the Sunday Service or in terms of organizing his trip," he said.

When asked whether he or Putin is familiar with West's activities, Peskov said, "Not to such an extent so as to offer assessments."
