Putin's press conference to feature int'l affairs, political results of year - Peskov

MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - During his big press conference on Thursday Russian President Vladimir Putin will take stock of the outgoing year, including of the now highly turbulent international agenda, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Traditionally, the head of state sums up the results of year, which is all the more important when you sum up the results of a year like the current one, the outgoing one. These are the political results - we have a new parliament, we had elections, and also the yearly results from the standpoint of international affairs, you know that international affairs have not been this turbulent, probably, for many, many decades," Peskov told the NTV channel.

There will be also economic results, he said. "We are more or less back on our feet after the pandemic shock," Peskov said, noting that the president will also touch on the effects of the global unfavorable conjuncture, global inflation and the continued global economic crisis.

"All this, naturally, leaves an imprint, and all this needs to be told about, all this prompts live interest," the spokesman said.
