Lawyers of Pulatov, indicted in MH17 crash case, to call for his acquittal
MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - The defense of Oleg Pulatov, who has been indicted in the case of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash in Donbas, will ask a court in the Netherlands to acquit their client although the prosecution service demands life in jail.
"Our client believes he is innocent, and his stance is absolutely shared by me and my colleagues, lawyers from the Netherlands. So, the sentence demanded by the prosecution service is irrelevant in this context. The defense team will ask the court to acquit our client anyway," Pulatov's Russian lawyer Yelena Kutyina told Interfax.
A prosecutor urged the Dutch court to sentence all case defendants, including Pulatov, to life imprisonment.
