EpiVacCorona vaccine to be efficacious against Omicron variant - developer

MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax) - The EpiVacCorona vaccine will be efficacious against the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus; its efficacy will be soon be verified in practice, Rinat Maksyutov, general director of Rospotrebnadzor's Vector State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology, said.

"The peptides in our vaccine are resistant to current [coronavirus] variants and effective. [...] We are expecting to receive similar results in the case of Omicron variant, we will soon verify that in practice," Maksyutov said at a plenary meeting of the 2nd international scientific and practical conference on the containment of the novel coronavirus and other infectious diseases.
