U.S. makes misleading statements on progress in dialogue on functioning of diplomatic missions - Deputy FM Ryabkov

MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of State has been intentionally misleading the public with statements on progress in the dialogue on the functioning of U.S. and Russian diplomatic missions in both countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"Certain individual, fragmentary aspects of the voluminous visa dossier, where mutual understanding has been achieved, do not change the general rather negative and disquieting situation," Ryabkov told reporters.

"So, I believe that the Department of State has been knowingly misleading the public both in Russia and the United States for days, by pretending that the emergence of serious progress has been observed," he said.
