Russia registers 33,860 new Covid-19 cases, 1,209 related deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 33,860 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,209 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"Over the past day, 33,860 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 2,562 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (7.6%)," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, there were 3,434 new infections in Moscow, 2,236 in the Moscow region, and 2,181 in St. Petersburg.

Over the past day, 1,209 people have died from Covid-19 across Russia, with the most deaths in Moscow (93), St. Petersburg (66), and the Moscow region (58).

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 9,604,233 cases of Covid-19, 273,964 deaths, and 8,295,811 recoveries, including 27,700 persons discharged from the hospital over the past day, 3,703 of them in Moscow.

Russian consumer health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Monday that Russia has performed more than 224.5 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 450,000 over the past day. As many as 1,785,055 people remain under medical observation.
