Gostev replaces Kalashnikov as FSIN head - executive order

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Arkady Gostev has replaced Alexander Kalashnikov as the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), consistent with the executive orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Relieve Alexander Petrovich Kalashnikov of duties as the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service," one of the orders, published by the Kremlin press service on Thursday, said.

"Appoint Arkady Alexandrovich Gostev as the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service, upon his relief of current duties," the other order said.

Both orders take effect from the date they are signed.

Gostev was born in the Shatsk district of the Ryazan region in 1961.

He served as deputy head - chief of staff of the Moscow southern administrative district police, head of the Moscow police's public peace department, and Moscow deputy police chief.

Gostev was appointed as Russian deputy interior minister in 2012. He has the rank of police colonel general.
