Russia registers 33,796 new Covid-19 cases, 1,238 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 33,796 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,238 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.
"Over the past day, 33,796 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 2,340 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (6.9%)," the headquarters said.
According to the headquarters, there were 3,349 new infections in Moscow, as against 2,533 the day before, as well as 1,538 new infections in St. Petersburg, and 1,483 in the Moscow region.
Over the past day, 1,238 patients died from Covid-19 across Russia, mostly in Moscow (92), St. Petersburg (65), and the Moscow region (60).
Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 9,468,189 cases of Covid-19, including 269,057 deaths and 8,164,826 recoveries, including 38,450 persons discharged from hospital over the past day, 5,161 of them in Moscow.
The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Thursday that Russia has performed more than 222.3 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 561,000 over the past day. As many as 1,852,751 people remain under medical observation.
