Operative communication channel between Armenian, Azerbaijani defense ministries being established - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. Nov 23 (Interfax) - An operative communication link is being established between the defense ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"The establishment of an operative communication channel between the heads of the Armenian and Azerbaijani defense ministries to prevent incidents is being discussed. This communication is being formed with international mediation," Pashinyan said at an online press conference.

He noted that he had instructed the Armenian defense minister to actively use this communication and share information with his Azerbaijani counterpart about ceasefire violations.

"There has never been such contact between the defense ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan before. This is the first time. Communication has been established, and I appreciate this decision of the Azerbaijani president. Time will show how effective this operative communication will be," the Armenian prime minister said.
