Russian govt sets up project activities department

MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order to create a project activities department in the government administration that will carry out enhanced monitoring of the implementation of measures, forecast the risks of them falling behind schedule and support feedback from the public.

The new department will be headed by Yulia Levitskaya, the government said on its Telegram channel.

The new department will replace the abolished department for organization of project activities. The restructuring is intended to "improve the work of the government administration on monitoring the implementation of state programs, national projects, national development goals approved by the president, and other priority projects, including the 42 strategic initiatives," the government press service said.

One of the new department's main jobs will be enhanced monitoring of the implementation of measures and achievement of indicators, with mandatory monitoring of the risks of deviations from approved schedules and feedback from the public.
