Issue of Sputnik V's recognition by WHO to be resolved in near future - RDIF CEO

MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - The issue of recognition of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine by the World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to be resolved soon, precisely in the next few months, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev said.

"Everything will be resolved with the WHO literally in the near future. [...] So far there are a few bureaucratic steps left to go through in the next few months," Dmitriev said during a meeting on the Bell.Club Live platform.

The Russian Health Ministry plays a major role in resolving this issue, Dmitriev added.

The recognition of the certificates of Russian vaccines is more important for travel between various countries than the issue of vaccine recognition by the WHO, the RDIF CEO also said.
