Acting head of Rosnedra Evgeny Petrov appointed head of agency

MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax) - The acting head of the Federal Subsoil Resources Agency (Rosnedra), Evgeny Petrov, has been appointed as the new head of Rosnedra, and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed the corresponding instruction, the Russian government's press service said in a statement.

Petrov was born in 1979 in Yakutsk and is a graduate of Moscow State University, with a degree in geology. He later received a PhD in Physics and Mathematics, and worked at PetroAlliance Service Company and Severneftegaz.

Petrov joined Rosnedra in 2014 as an advisor to the director. In 2018, he became an advisor to the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

Petrov had been the deputy head of Rosnedra since 2020, and was appointed acting head of the agency in June 2021.
