Russia registers 38,058 cases of Covid-19, new all-time high of 1,239 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 38,058 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,239 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Over the past day, 38,058 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 3,207 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (8.4%)," the headquarters said.

Russia has seen another all-time high of 1,239 deaths from Covid-19. The previous record of 1,211 deaths was reported on Tuesday.

Most deaths were reported in Moscow (98), St. Petersburg (82), and the Moscow region (55), which also saw the highest daily coronavirus morbidity: there were 3,927 new coronavirus infections in Moscow (the minimal number since October 6), 2,942 in St. Petersburg, and 2,649 in the Moscow region.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 8,911,713 cases of Covid-19, including 250,454 deaths and 7,654,161 recoveries, including 34,565 persons discharged from hospital over the past day, 7,549 of them in Moscow.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Wednesday that Russia has performed more than 214.3 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 495,000 over the past day. As many as 1,989,101 people remain under medical observation.
