Ukrainian defense minister tenders resignation

KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran has tendered his resignation, Taras Melnychuk, representative of the government at the Verkhovna Rada, said.

"Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran has tendered his resignation with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Melnychuk said on Telegram on Tuesday.

Taran has held the post of defense minister since March 4, 2020.

David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, said earlier that Taran "has some complaints about his health" and that another person may become the ministry head in light of that.
