Russia has received 25 S-400 air defense systems, over 70 fighter aircraft over past 4 years - Putin

SOCHI. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have received 25 S-400 air defense systems and over 70 new fighter aircraft in recent years, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Under the state armaments program, 25 S-400 air defense missile systems and over 70 modern fighters have been delivered over the past four years," Putin said.

Apart from that, over 20 S-300 air defense systems and 90 aircraft have been modernized, he said.

"As a result, the efficiency of the defense of military and industrial infrastructure has been significantly improved," Putin said.

The share of modern weapons in the Russian Armed Forces should be increased to at least 80% by 2025-2027, he said.

"Over 200 aerial vehicles, 26 S-350 and S-400 air defense missile systems, and the first serial S-500 system or systems should be delivered to the Armed Forces within the next few years," Putin said.

The Russian Armed Forces have substantially bolstered their aerospace defense capability over the past few years, he said.

"For instance, the early warning system operates faultlessly and efficiently. Both of its components, namely the satellite constellation and the ground-based radar network, are guaranteed to detect ballistic missile launches, promptly determine their parameters, and alert the combat command centers," Putin said.
