Uzbek CEC approves results of presidential election, Mirziyoyev wins with 80.12% of votes

TASHKENT. Oct 29 (Interfax) - The Uzbek Central Elections Commission (CEC) on Friday approved a protocol and a decree on the outcome of the October 24 presidential election.

A total of 16,212,343 people, or 80.8% of all voters, voted in the election, CEC Chairman Zainiddin Nizamkhodzhayev told a press conference.

"The country's president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, nominated by the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, won a convincing victory in the presidential election, getting 80.12% of the vote, which is more than 12.2 million votes," Nizamkhodzhayev said.
