Russia to prepare comprehensive response to gas crisis on global market - Putin

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - The Russian government plans to develop a set of measures to counteract the negative consequences of rising global prices for natural gas, President Vladimir Putin said during a government meeting on Wednesday.

Putin noted that the gas crisis in Europe would have a negative effect on Gazprom , and the president said that Russia was not interested in such high gas prices.

Putin also did not rule out that the increase in the price for fertilizers globally, as caused by the rise in gas prices, could lead to growth in food prices in Russia.
