Brief coronavirus-related restrictions possible in Moscow but city development must go on - mayor

MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Brief coronavirus-related restrictions are possible in Moscow, yet the city will not stop to develop because of Covid-19, as it has adapted to the pandemic, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

"Pandemic or not, we will not stop to develop the city, it will continue to live a full life and develop. True, some restrictions are still possible, some brief limitations may be imposed, but the city has adapted in general, and we understand that it won't stop us, it won't stop the city's development," Sobyanin said on the TVC television channel on Thursday night.

As to the losses incurred by Moscow from the pandemic, Sobyanin said that the city adapted to the pandemic and regained the ground lost in 2020 this year. He also expressed hope for the soonest recovery of tourism and public catering industries worst affected by Covid-19.
