Kazakhstan doesn't need 'Great Game in the heart of Asia' - Tokayev

NUR-SULTAN. Oct 12 (Interfax) - The five Central Asian states are interested in seeing the situation in Afghanistan return to normal, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

"The five states of Central Asia are particularly interested in Afghanistan's returning onto its normal path. Kazakhstan's call is simple and clear: we're striving for a Great Benefit rather than a Great Game in the heart of Asia," the Kazakh presidential press service quoted Tokayev as saying at a meeting with the heads of the delegations taking part in a ministerial meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Nur-Sultan.
