Russia registers 18,341 new cases of Covid-19, 789 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 18,341 new cases of Covid-19 and 789 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"Over the past day, 18,341 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,274 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (7.0%)," the headquarters said.

In the past 24 hours, 789 patients died from Covid-19 across Russia, the majority of them in Moscow (48), the Sverdlovsk region (37), and the Krasnodar Territory (34).

Meanwhile, 17,121 patients have been discharged from hospitals upon recovery.

According to the operative headquarters, Moscow reported 1,566 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,443 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 7,102,625 cases of Covid-19, including 191,165 deaths and 6,357,272 recoveries.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Friday that Russia has performed more than 182.7 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 456,000 over the past day. As many as 1,123,448 people remain under medical observation.
