Russia's Finance Ministry does not rule out providing support to Belarus if necessary

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Russia's Finance Ministry does not rule out that it could provide Belarus with some types of support if necessary, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said during a briefing at the Moscow Financial Forum.

"In Belarus, we see that our neighbor is in a complicated financial situation; therefore, we are co-operating with our colleagues, and various matters of support are being discussed. However, our most important goal currently is aimed at promoting the integration process, at signing our so-called strategic plans in order to integrate our economies," Siluanov said.

"Therefore, this is the most important task on the agenda as of today, though I do not rule out the possibility that we could provide some types of support to our Belarusian partners if necessary," Siluanov added.
