Russian energy minister discusses Russian gas transit with German's special rep for gas transit via Ukraine

MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov has discussed relevant issues related to cooperation between Russia and Germany in the energy sector, in particular on the transit of Russian gas, with Georg Graf Waldersee, special representative of the German government for the transit of gas through Ukraine, the Russian Energy Ministry said in a statement.

"I am sure that the 'blue fuel' in the near future will only strengthen its position on the global energy arena and remain an effective foundation in the fight against climate change," the minister said. Shulginov noted that cooperation between Russia and Germany in the energy sector is based on pragmatism, economic feasibility, and many years of successful experience.

The meeting was held in Moscow.
