Russia registers 17,425 new Covid-19 cases, 795 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 17,425 new cases of Covid-19 and 795 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Over the past day, 17,425 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,240 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (7.1%)," the headquarters said.
Over the past day, 795 patients have died from Covid-19 across Russia, as compared to 790 on Monday. The most deaths were registered in Moscow (45), St. Petersburg (37), and the Sverdlovsk region (34).
Across Russia, 17,243 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to the headquarters, Moscow has seen 1,187 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,441 recoveries over the past day.
There were 880 new cases in the Moscow region, as well as 626 in St. Petersburg.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 7,047,880 cases of Covid-19, including 188,785 deaths and 6,302,250 recoveries.
Russian consumer health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Tuesday that Russia has performed more than 181.5 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 255,000 over the past day. As many as 1,148,478 people remain under medical observation.
