Zelensky: Ukraine grateful to NATO for presence in Black Sea region, but it's not enough

KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked NATO for its support and presence in the Black Sea region.

However, Zelensky said that this is not enough under the current circumstances.

According to the Ukraine 24 television channel, the president made this statement during his visit to the United States.

"People in Ukraine see this support. It's important, because they feel that they are not alone and that our partners will be with us if escalation by the Russian Federation continues," Zelensky said.

At the same time, Zelensky said NATO only talks about "the presence" of the alliance's forces in the region now.

"I believe this is the right psychological step. Weapons aren't used, but it is demonstrated to third countries that the alliance is working with Ukraine. Therefore, I think it's not bad as a psychological step. Is that enough? I don't think so," Zelensky said.
