Covid-19 situation worsening in Armenia - Health Ministry

YEREVAN. Sept 1 (Interfax) - The Covid-19 situation is worsening in Armenia, Deputy Health Minister Gevorg Simonyan said.

"Dear fellow citizens, the situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic has been worsening in the Republic of Armenia. Fourteen medical centers in Yerevan and Armenian regions have been fully or partially converted into coronavirus facilities. Out of 1,798 beds, 1,563 are now occupied (87%). About 700 patients are in serious condition, 125 are critical, and 53 are on ventilators," Simonyan said on Facebook on Wednesday.

Paramedics are overwhelmed, as the ambulance service receives 2,000 to 3,000 calls per day, he said.
