Russia lifting restrictions on regular, charter flights to Dominican Republic, South Korea, Czech Republic from Aug 27

MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Russia is lifting restrictions on regular and charter flights to the Dominican Republic, South Korea and the Czech Republic, which were imposed earlier due to the coronavirus situation, from August 27, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"A decision was made following a discussion and with regard for the epidemiological situation in some countries to lift from August 27, 2021 the restrictions on regular and non-regular (charter) flights from Russian airports, from which international flights have been resumed, to the Dominican Republic, South Korea, and the Czech Republic," the headquarters said.

The number of flights to these countries was earlier restricted after flights to them were resumed.

The decision was made following a meeting of the coronavirus response headquarters chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

Besides, a decision has also been made to increase the number of regular flights on a reciprocal basis to Hungary, Egypt, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan from August 27.

Flights from the Surgut International Airport to foreign states will also resume from August 27, 2021.

According to the headquarters' decision, the number of Moscow-Budapest flights will be increased from four to seven flights per week from August 27, and flights on the routes Sochi-Budapest, Kazan-Budapest, Zhukovsky-Budapest, Yekaterinburg-Budapest, Krasnodar-Budapest, Rostov-on-Don-Budapest, and Samara-Budapest will take place once a week.

The number of flights to Egypt will increase threefold, from five to 15, on the routes Moscow-Hurghada and Moscow-Sharm el-Sheikh. Besides, flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh will take place once a week from the Russian airports where international flights have resumed.

The number of Moscow-Larnaca flights increased from four to seven flights per week, and the number of Moscow-Pathos flights increases from three to seven per week. From Russian airports, except for Moscow, where international flights have resumed, the number of weekly flights to Larnaca and Pathos has increased from two to four.

The number of Moscow-Bishkek flights has increased from three to seven flights per week. Flights from Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, and Grozny to Bishkek will take place once a week on each of the routes.

The number of Moscow-Dushanbe flights will increase from two to seven per week. From the Russian airports where international flights have resumed, one flight a week will take place to Dushanbe, Khujand and Kulob on each route.

"The operative headquarters recommends citizens get vaccinated against Covid-19 before flying to foreign states," the report said.
