Russia sees 23,239 daily cases of Covid-19, 727 related deaths over past 24 hours - coronavirus response HQ

MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 23,239 new cases of Covid-19 and 727 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus operative response headquarters reported on Monday.

"Russia has recorded 23,239 new confirmed coronavirus cases (Covid-19) in 84 regions over the past 24 hours, including 2,137 (9.2%) cases identified proactively without any clinical symptoms manifested," the headquarters said.

There were 833 fewer cases of Covid-19 recorded on Monday compared to Sunday.

As many as 727 deaths associated with Covid-19 have been recorded nationwide over the past 24 hours. The highest numbers of deaths have been recorded in Moscow at 101 and St. Petersburg with 70.

As many as 16,200 patients earlier diagnosed with Covid-19 have recovered and been released from hospitals nationwide.

The city of Moscow alone has seen 2,629 new cases of Covid-19 and 4,580 recoveries over the past 24 hours.

The Moscow region has recorded 2,161 and St. Petersburg 1,929 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours.

The cumulative number of new coronavirus infection cases recorded in Russia over the period of the pandemic has reached 6,149,780, with 154,601 related deaths and 5,506,834 recoveries.

Specialists have carried out more than 162.9 million tests for Covid-19 in Russia during the pandemic, including some 430,000 tests over the past 24 hours, according to Russian public health and consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor.

As many as 1,267,008 people remain under medical supervision nationwide.
