Russia's Energy Ministry prepared to ban gasoline exports, implement fuel agreements, increase regulatory standards on exchange if high wholesale prices persist

MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - Current growth in wholesale prices on the exchange for gasoline should not significantly affect the dynamics of retail prices at filling stations regarding end consumers, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov told reporters.

"If exchange prices persist at their current record levels, then a process on banning gasoline exports is to be launched next week, and the matter could be reviewed in terms of signing agreements with oil companies on regulating the volumes and price levels in the wholesale chain, as well as increasing regulatory standards on the exchange to 15 %," Shulginov stressed.
