Putin: Russian GDP to grow around 4% in 2021, 'hopefully close to this'

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Russian GDP will grow by around 4% in 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.

"Economic growth this year will be around 4%. Hopefully it will be close to this." Putin said

He said Russia had already practically managed to approach pre-Covid unemployment figures.

"The unemployment level has already practically returned to the parameters of 2019 now. Then it was 4.7%, now it is already 4.9%, but this is an average, a statistic, and we realize there are still a lot of people encountering difficulties finding a job, on a full time basis," Putin said.
