Russia, U.S. planning meeting on strategic stability by mid-July - Lavrov
ANTALYA. June 30 (Interfax) - Delegations from the United States and Russia could meet for talks over strategic stability before the middle of July; the two sides understand that only mutually acceptable agreements are possible in this sphere, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Over the next few days, I hope by mid-July, we are planning a meeting of the delegations to consider the tasks set by our presidents in the area of strategic stability," Lavrov said at a press conference in Antalya on Wednesday.
"On this we have full understanding with our American partners, that we will begin the conversation with each side presenting its vision of the new talks. Such preliminary consultations should only result in an agreement that suits both sides," he said.
"On this we have an understanding of what to expect from one another and an understanding that only a mutually acceptable basis of negotiations could enable their launch," the minister said.
