Ex-Armenian President Sargsyan's bloc to go to Constitutional Court to dispute election outcome
YEREVAN. June 28 (Interfax) - The I Have Honor election bloc put together around former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan intends to go to the Constitutional Court to dispute the outcome of the early parliamentary election held on June 20.
"We intend to go to the Constitutional Court to dispute the election outcome. All the violations recorded, which concern the obstruction of free will and the use of administrative leverage, will be presented to the court for consideration," Sos Hakobyan of said election bloc told Armenian media.
Former National Security Service Director Artur Vanetsyan, manager of the bloc and leader of the Fatherland party, has said earlier that the bloc had not yet decided whether to accept the parliamentary mandates and work in a new parliament. Vanetsyan said the bloc would decide whether to recognize the official election results after the Constitutional Court handed down its judgment.
The Armenian Central Elections Commission published the final results of the June 20 election on Sunday, according to which the Civil Contract party led by acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan garnered 53.91%, the Armenia bloc led by ex-President Robert Kocharyan 21.9%, and the I Have Honor bloc 5.22% of the vote.
The Armenia bloc said it would also appeal to the Constitutional Court to dispute the election results.
