Arms control in Europe largely depends on U.S., Russian Defense Ministry ready to join dialogue - Shoigu

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The arms control situation in Europe largely depends on Washington, and the Russian-U.S. summit has confirmed the relevance of resuming the strategic dialogue, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The way the situation in Europe will be developing, in particular, in the arms control field, largely depends on the United States. Results of the recent meeting of the Russian and U.S. presidents in Geneva have confirmed the relevance of resuming the strategic dialogue," Shoigu said at the Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.

"There are lots of questions in this area, and their solution will require an account of concerns and interests of all sides. Russian Defense Ministry experts are ready to join this work," he said.
