Lukoil trader participating in financing project to supply oil from Iraq's Nasiriya field

ST. PETERSBURG. June 3 (Interfax) - Litasco, a Lukoil trader, is participating in financing a project to supply oil from the Nasiriya field in Iraq, the Russian oil company's president, Vagit Alekperov, has told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"This is not funding for Nasiriya; this is funding for a separate project for a flow that is related to logistics through the product," Alekperov explained.

Alekperov also said that Litasco had negotiated with Glencore to exchange information on implementing similar projects.

"Glencore today participates not only in trading, but also in infrastructure projects. We have Litasco, for example, which is not only a trader in Nasiriya, but is also participating in infrastructure projects in West Africa and Iraq for the future flow of crude. Therefore, their cooperation and exchange of information is very important," Alekperov said.
